Foster Art is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in Chapel Hill, NC. Our goal is to provide art supplies to children in the foster care system of North Carolina. We do this through gifting Art Boxes, personalized for 7 different age groups, which we deliver through collaboration with the Children's Home of North Carolina. We promote a cycle of creativity by raising funds through selling prints of art from local student artists.
The many benefits of artistic expression, especially at a young age, are widely known. Just a few include higher self-esteem, increased creativity, empathy, and kindness, and lower stress levels. We believe that a great way to facilitate creativity with the arts is to provide supplies directly into the hands of children.
By gifting art supplies to children in the foster care system we make a positive impact. Our homemade Art Boxes are personalized as well, making them meaningful and heartfelt gifts. You can read more about exactly what goes into these gifts under the "Art Boxes" tab.
Last year we reached our goal of raising $3,000 and gifting our Art Boxes to over 100 children in the North Carolina foster system. Yay! A huge thank-you to all of those who helped us achieve this.
Help us surpass our 2019 goal! We hope to raise our funds for Art Boxes by November, giving us just a few more months to raise the necessary funds. We raise money through selling prints from local artistic youth, many local bake sales, other fundraising events, and donations. Any contribution to our GoFundMe, or any purchase of an art print, baked good, or any of our Merch is immensely appreciated!
